No not really, it is generally a straight foward swap.
To not pick, the 318 heads have a smaller port window than most aftermarket intake manifolds. This will cause the air and fuel to crash into the head. Not the best thing for making power. Some intake manifolds are designed for the smaller port window.

You could always port match the head to the larger window. But for a basic cheap and easy power upgrade, just do the swap and do not worry about anything.

FWIW, I use the LOKAR cable set up to replace the linkages.
