Galvanized means zinc, and I've always heard not to weld on galvanized metal without grinding it off because the fumes can cause the shakes?

Haha.. trust me. As the owner of a fence co. that welds chain link gates I know about what galv. can be like and should have known better. Welding that cold galv stuff is WAAY worse than welding galv pipe. I think my buddy thought I was break dancing rather than shaking trying to get out from under the car with gooey slag rolling around inside my sweatshirt. I never got a chance to sniff it. Scarred for life? Sure, but I learned a valuable lesson
