I had a previous post a few months ago and last week. In regards to my Duster 340 turning over but not firing. I had a very week sparatic yellow spark, not the hot white/blue steady spark. I have replaced the coil and ECM box still nothing. From replys some of you had given me it led me to start looking elswhere. The first place I looked (my steering column plug connection)I think I have found my problem. For some reason two of the pins have shorted out in the middle of the plug and melted the plug. The only reason we can think is old age and the plug has become brittle (it's a 73 340).
Does anyone know who makes a good replacement plug unit that I can cut out the complete plug unit and rewire in a new unit. I hate have to replace the entire harness with a new one since they are expensive.Or buy a complete used harness just to ge the plug setup that I need.
thanks,
