BTW, why did you not have inside handles? What I did was reconfigure the lock linkage so that it opened the latch with the key, rather than the handle. It was all mechanical and worked fine with no dead battery blues. They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.
