If its the same as my '67, which it should be, it takes less than a half hour to remove the tank completely. I pulled mine & had a new one in and completely buttoned up in a couple hours. There should be only one strap, dissconnect the fuel and breather lines (which are pretty much standard hose couplings), and remove the fuel line from the sending unit. bam, it falls out.
