Thanks, I heard there was a company coming out with an adapter? that will allow older gen 3 cams into a 6.4. I do not know the name of the company.

I have also heard that 6.1 blocks are the thinnest, then I hear the opposite. Does anyone have the real story?

At what point does a 6.1 break?

6.1 cylinder walls are thinner than an 03-08 5.7. That is true. Don't know how thick a 6.4 cylinder wall is.

FlyByU went 8.91 @ 152 on two stages of nitrous (400/200) in his LX charger with a 426 stroker kit (6.1 block). I don't know his race weight, but it was probably close to or upwards of 4,000 lb. He did crack a block on the dyno with that tune up I believe.

Rule of thumb is 1800 hp with a stock stroke and billet main caps. Less with more stroke. Below 1000-1200 hp, no need for billet caps.

If you're contemplating more, then get an aluminum 6.1 block.
