I'm trying to install the headliner (6 bows) in my '71 Satellite and it seems like I have a problem. When I put all the bows in and try to stretch the headliner front to rear I couldn't get it tight. I hooked the wires holding the rear bow in and when I pull the headliner forward the space between the bows is sagging down all the way across the car. I measured the space between each bow (1-2, 2-3, etc) and the space between the listings and the space between all the listings are 1/2" to 1" further apart than the bows (when they are perpendicular to the car). I assumed that the bows and listings would be spaced equally (closer than an inch).

I know it can't be right but it seems like the headliner was produced incorrectly. What am I doing wrong?
