I was running the Mancini retainer on my 512 and pulled it twice to re seal. The last time I found that the seal retainer was hitting the nuts on the #5 main cap thus preventing it from fully seating. Changed to a stock type retainer and no more leaks. I could've also ground a couple of grooves in the Mancini retainer enough to clear the nuts on the studs.
I have ARP main studs and the cap seemed to clear the nuts just fine. I looked pretty close to make sure because someone else had mentioned that. I had it apart again last weekend and also put a crank case evac kit on it and took it out for some test runs and still has a few drips off the bottom of the bell. Its not a horrible leak its just one that will drive me crazy. I just want it dry!
