ANY engine, that is of a performance intent.....if I didn't assemble it myself, or know the builder VERY well, I consider that engine used and I knock it down to have a look. And I have seen some well known BUILDERS who may mic the crank and rods, but pull ONE PAIR of bearings from a set to check clearance and then just assemble the rest. Anything could happen, from a thin or thick shell, to packaged wrong, or stamped wrong. CHECK THEM ALL. Sure, it takes time, but less time than redoing a motor because of a spun bearing
