I did some experimenting with spacers.

From my experience a 2-hole spacer just adds velocity to the charge and makes it hit the plenum floor harder before that hard 90* bend.
Slowed me down,don`t remember how much,was 20 years ago.
An open spacer and or cutting down the divider helped mine
Also radius the roof transistion from plenum to runner helps too.
