There's a chance yours is a legit 74 B-body 9 1/4. As far as I know, they were available with either 3.21 or 3.55 Sure-grip rears. I don't think the 74's B-body 9-1/4" were produced with an open diff. :shruggy? They are not overly common...in ALL the 71-4 B-bodies I've seen in the last 21 years of messing with specifically these cars....I've seen 2 9-1/4" rear cars.


The Dana 60 was no longer used in passenger cars after 1972.
I'm guessing the 9-1/4" rear is cheaper to produce than the 8-3/4", hence it's eventual replacement.
