Well, in my failed attempt to fix my leaking steering box on the old 89 w350 I need some insight. Here are the details. The only place my box was leaking was at the input shaft. The box was tight and worked fine. I ordered a new input shaft seal kit an installed it properly without disambling the box (i only removed the borgeson joint an a snap ring and the two old seals), but now the dang thing still leaks at the very tip of the input shaft. Attached is a picture from the web with a circle around the very tip of the shaft where my box is leaking. The previous owner did install a borgeson shaft and I see no sign of leakage on the side of the input shaft, only at the very tip. Any ideas, anyone before I buy a reman box? thanks moparts
