You realize a thermostat does NOTHING for maximum temperature. It only sets the minimum. If a new thermostat "fixed" the problem then the problem was the old thermostat, not the temperature rating of it.



Exactly. if you're running a 195 stat, your motor can't get any cooler than 195. The only way it has to go is up.
