The time slip deal was an accident where wires were cut..

The tree will be upgraded and scoreboards will be put up..

Who do any of you know that will put over 1 MILLION dollars into a facility?? Not me....

Lots of talkers but no doers.. I remember back last year when the track closed and Speedworld was closed, there was a whole bunch of whining....
Think positive.. And give them ideas.. That helps much more..

Give them time.. Remember that Charlie basically gutted that place.. They are starting over..

Spending lots of $$$$$$$.. Buying the best equipment etc..

I met the management, and they are a great upgrade from Charlie Allen..

Also the PA system being used was the old pieced together system, and the new one is being worked on daily..

We will be racing the Arizona Super Street race this Saturday even if there are no scoreboards or time slips yet..

BTW.. They posted on their Facebook page that the time slips and PA system were not working prior to Friday Night.. So it wasn't a surprise to me..

Some of the excuses for the condition of this facility opening night does not fly.

This is a business and a business has paying customers. Can you imagine if the casinos on the Gila River would have opened in this half baked not ready condition to it's customers? They would go else where. The only thing is, this is the only game in town so die hard racers will come back no matter what. But what about newbie customers who showed up in a street car Friday night with their pals to try a shot a drag racing?

Defending the poor decision to open a business before it ready to hit the ground running is wrong. Glitches happen, that's understandable but it sounds like this was a rush to get revenue coming it.

"Who do any of you know that will put over 1 MILLION dollars into a facility?? Not me...."

Seeing this is a national event track, if Bruton Smith or Bill Bader had anything to with it a million would be chump change.

"And.... They were not expecting over 450 cars last Friday night.. Jeez, that's like a division race..
It was a record for that race track."

Opening night 1983 had way more cars. And talk about half baked, there was no tower only a construction trailer!

I really do hope the best for WHP to become an enjoyable place to race and spectate at.
