I suggest you look at the ratios of three speed manuals of the same era and compare them to the A833OD, pretty close or "worse" and no one cries about huge ratio drops there.

I have a 65 Cuda, early A body, I am fitting an A833OD into. It has a 318 and a 3.55 rear gear.




Shoot, no doubt about that. Cripes, I have a 318 two barrel, 2.94's in a 4100 pound half-ton and the 833od pulls that thing around no problem.

I'd be puttin' 2.76's in that '65; it's gonna be too quick with 3.55's.
