I run an auxilary electric cooling fan in front of my aluminum radiator. I really don't want to impede any more air with a trans cooler...that's why I believe the deep pan alone will be good for my set-up,and usage. Heck..the trans survived for 11 yrs. of harsh duty..with just a Mopar Performance extra capacity pan...which wasn't much more than stock!

Like you said Randy... your set up has worked for years
with out issue... the added volume will be fine without
a cooler if you still run the radiator cooler... you
can mount a cooler in the rear somewhere with a small
fan on a thermo switch if you want... that way you
get more line(thats volume and cooling) then it turns
on when/if it needs too... if you dont want it in the
rear see if you can mount one flat between the radiator
and the front of the crank... with either a fan or
just a small wind deflector to direct air up through it
but then it only works when rolling
EDIT
This is the cooler I mounted on the bottom of the
radiator... I dont have a a cooler in the radiator
so I had to put one somewhere... this is on my 518
trans with a 5000 stall conv and OD so when its in
OD I have 9% slippage at low rpms.. so far its been
working fine in the miles I have on it at about 90*
temp on the Woodward week
