Was changing out the transmission on my '68 440 Satellite and decided to change out the power steering gear box cause the seals were a little leaky. The old box worked just fine. Got the new Cardone box in and transfered the high pressure fitting on top and the return valve body. Put it in and got it running, and it took two hands to turn it. Very hard. Figured it was just a crappy cheap box so I put the old one back it that worked just fine. Put the fitting and return body back on and it doing the same thing.

The steering linkage is not binding up, its like there is no belt on the pump. I seem to be getting good flow coming out of pump and what appears to be good return coming out of gear box.

Before I did all this I could steer it with one finger. Now its impossible to drive. I've put it back the way it was. Not sure if maybe the pump just happen to go out at the same time I changed the gear box.

I'm really scratching my head on this one.
