Well, I've spent all day again today trying to solve the problem with my headers hitting the power steering box and still have no answer. Even after adding a 3/16" shim on the driver side the header tube still makes contact with the steering box. The only things I can think of to solve this is to either shim some more but I don't know how much I can shim without creating other problems, dent the header tube which I would rather not do or grind off the edge of the steering box to make clearance which would be a lot of work. I was also thinking of possibly using different motor mounts. The ones one the car are fairly new but only measure 7/8" thick with the motor sitting on them. My friend has Schumacher mounts on his car that are a little over an inch thick under load. According to Mancini's the correct thickness is 7/8" but maybe a thicker mount will solve the problem? Your thoughts please.
