I just went through exactly the same thing with mine. If you take it off, I'm sure you will see that it is warped (bent down at the ends and up in the middle. The more you tighten it, the worse it gets. You can grind/file it flat and it will do it again. This has happened to me too many times. They are all crap. Do yourself a favor. Chuck it in the trash and use the OEM one.
