After installing many factory hose clamps, here's my advise:
(1) Use the good pliers as stated. (2) Use only quality clamps. There are a few manufactures of them. They need to be "egg shape" before you expand them. If they are "round", do not use them. I have found Frank Badalson has the best clamps. (3) Expand the clamp only as far as you needed to get it over the hose - never over-expand! (4) Use a light coat of silicon inside the hose.
