Here is one of mine with remains of all of the paint.
I have sets of these in various stages of decay, but they all show the same paint scheme. The one pictured has ~95% coverage.
Outside edge - chrome; trough - black; main inner portion bounded by the trough - light argent; recesses around engine lettering and fake bolt heads - dark argent; fake bolt heads - black; engine lettering - chrome.

I did the feel test and put a magnifying glass on both shades of argent, and they appear to have the same texture. The paint is full of small squares of material, which appear to be the same size in each shade.

Now, as to whether the light and dark argent are the same light and dark argent used in wheel center caps, and grills and the like; or whether the black was originally gloss, or semi, or flat....no idea.
