IMO you will detract from it's "Survivor" status if you paint ANYTHING on the car. The more factory production line original, the better, flaws and all, nothing is more beautiful than an untouched original car. There aren't many left with original engine bay details, ESPECIALLY of your cars vintage.

There are too many so called "survivors" these days, far too many have repainted drive trains, undercarriages, even MOST of the bodies have been painted on some. Once you change something, that "thing" is no longer valuable as a reference for future restorer or historian who are looking for the most minute of details, far too many of which have vanished forever due to some past owners effort to make it "prettier"
