That's a good question as you'd sure hate to have fuel leaking into the crankcase. A leaking needle/seat wouldn't be as bad but would need to be addressed and this DID happen all of a sudden. I think I'd toss on another pump even a cheap parts house airtex just to see if it goes back to holding pressure


i've had those pumps apart before. i think it would be difficult to get fuel in the crankcase with one. they have a relief hole in the top and the diaphragm has a seal at the top that the pressure spring holds in place.
