It does have the right throttle linkage.

Ok, so it makes sense that the linkage must be out of adjustment, now walk me through this, but if I remember correctly.

To set the shift linkage, You start by engaging the throttle spring linkage on the carb and you push it all the way back. This engages the transmission shift linkage. Now with the carb fully engaged the transmission linkage should push the shift lever all the way back on the 727.

Am I missing something?
