Hand tightened as far as it would go with out stressing the neck and there are approximately 3 threads still visable. Any cause for concern?

No sealer, never had a problem

Me too, for over 40 yrs of screwing them in until tight, no problems ever Why risk getting the tape or sealer into to the pump
