I personally never used anything and have no pressure issues. Once spun in the tube gets very tight because of the taper.




I ran without sealant and had NO pressure issues at all...in fact pressue was ont he high side. When I recently re-did the oil pan/pickup, I added some thread sealer (red stuff) to make sure the pickup didn't twist out any as my motor is a stroker and the clearance b/t pickup and rotating assbly is tight! This was done to prevent the pickup from loosening, not to seal it...
