No bare wood, i used 3/4" plywood and put a clear finish on it like polyurethane. With clear just a damp rag wipes up the dust/dirt. Wipe grease/oil rite off. Good points, I'm going to have my drill press, bench grinder, etc. mounted up there so there will be lots of crap to get worked in.
Some see the glass as half empty, some see the glass as half full. I just drink straight out of the bottle.
