Hey gang..
Asking for a friend. He has your typical A-833 18-spline gearbox in his '68 Charger R/T. He's been running natural/non-synthetic gear lube in it. He gets mixed input in regards to the type he should have in it. He lives in Western Colorado, so it gets really cold and naturally, the 1st 30 minutes or so of driving the shifting is rather stiff... Any suggestions? Is lighter gearlube better or should he just "deal" with the stiffness and go on down the road?

Thanks..
Troy

I've been using Penzoil synchromesh for the past couple of years with good results. Passons fluid was good too. The seemed to have the same viscosity.

Keep in mind that the SAE rating for gear oil and motor oil is different. A 30 weight motor oil is around an 80/90 weight gear oil
