For the reason above.......is why I never even mentioned the LD340. The LD4B, LD340 and Weiand 8007 are all so close it's neglible for a street car. It's the Performer that is sooooooo dramatically different once you study them.

But, I could see a 318 with a mild cam, 500 cfm Edelbrock/Carter and headers getting 22+ mpg if properly built tuned, built and driven.
