You need to pull the pan and check to make sure the band is actually still hooked up. I have seen misadjusted bands come unhooked before. There is an extension arm that connects the band to the lever at the servo. I have seen these arms come undone. If so you will need to reconnect this assembly and then adjust the band accordingly. If it is still hooked then you need to do a check of the servo circuit to see if it works or not. I always do this first before doing band adjustments. Also when built right a 904 can be a very strong tranny. I have built them behind numerous 9 second engines.
