I've never torqued them...35 ft-lbs won't snap them..I can check in my FSM, but it should be the same for any RWD car from '76 or so (when these calipers were introduced)....

I just go "pretty f'in tight" with a 3/8" ratchet or box wrench and call it good. anyway, you'd probably split the brass washers before you snapped the steel (albeit hollow) bolt.
