Hi, new to this forum, need advice on torque for banjo bolts on calipers of 1988 Fifth Avenue (M body). The bolts are 7/16"-20, and I didn't have the service manual handy when I tightened them (had to get the car back together in a hurry). I torqued them to 15 ft/lbs, but later checked the manual and it states 35 ft/lbs. Advice I've heard is everything from "I never torque them" to "15 ft/lbs is plenty" to "more than than and you'll snap them off". I prefer to do things by the book, so do I run much risk of them snapping off at 30-35 ft/lbs? The bolts look beefy enough to me (although they are banjo type, still look strong). Thanks for any advice.
BTW, car is like new. 30k miles.
