Is this a diesel or a gas? , considering the unloaded mileage I'll guess it's a diesel?

What what speed are you driving ?

What ever you do you aren't going to raise it a lot , maybe a mile or 2. The trailer is dragging you down, a wing might help some but it's still something that is a big flat panel against the wind, that's why big rigs went away from it .
