Congrats Tom on a great driving job in that bad smallblock car. I drove a few cars on street tires at the track back in the 70's and early 80's and I can say it was much easier launching the auto car on street tires then the stick car. You really had to learn how to launch the stick car let alone know how to shift very fast. It was tricky knowing how much to work the clutch and gas to get it out without to much tire spin.
