My ATV had a small wench which was 1500 maybe 2000 lbs rated. It pulled my Dakota onto a flat bed open trailer a few times... No problems... if a 3000 wench cant do this, its JUNK.. I would avoid the cheaper harbor freight type wench's.



Sorry... I've been using the cheap Harbor freight ones
for years.... I did just buy a new one because the
clutch is starting to slip..... cant see buying a
big dollar Warn when it sits MOST of the time



Only reason I say this is cause my Father-In-Laws wench on his Yamaha Rhino is J.U.N.K wont even pull a ATV stuck in a mud hole the other day... It's hardly 6 months old..



I use to pull my car in backwards all the time with
the cheapo HF unit but now I drive it in... that
cheapo lasted 8 years using it all the time... maybe
he got a bad one
