Some of the old Fords that mounted the muffler nearly to the back bumper with 6-8 out the back of the muffler were really quite. My Dad did duels on a Falcon one time and the muffler placement was at the rear on that car. He worked all day putting a duel exhaust kit on it he bought. He was really pissed when it wasn't any louder than the single exhaust.

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.
