Hi, the Jessel belt cam drive is known to be a quality piece. But the AMP (Australian Muscle Parts) is several hundreds cheaper. Is anyone familiar with AMP? Are they as good as Jessel? Thanks, Joel

I have used both and helped with the original AMP one with its previous owner. I run Jesel stuff on all my cars FWIW

I had a conversation with the Howards Rep and Mike from AMP at PRI this year. AMP was in the Howards booth. After speaking with them, I bought the Jesel.

AMP claims that Mancini has no stock on the belt drives, nor have they even placed any orders. Howards claims they haven't sold a single Chrysler belt drive since they started selling the AMP's. The guy from Howards told me "No one runs a Chrysler." AMP couldn't tell me the benefits of their product over the Jesel. I bought the Jesel.

Alky digger is closing out the amp for about $1,000 for a raised cam belt. I think the jessel is about 1800 or 1900. But I don't want to buy a problem.

I ordered an AMP belt drive from Mancini Racing about a year and a half ago for my short deck R3 motor. After several months, a lot of phone calls, not having it for me to pickup at Carlisle or Columbus, it finally arrived at my house. It was for a standard tall deck block and would not fit unless I were to cut and weld it up. After talking to a couple of people from Mancini Racing, it was obvious they couldn't/didn't understand what the deck height differences on R3 engine blocks were, so I sent it back for a refund. It did look like a very nice and well built piece, it just wouldn't fit my block.

Joel, consider if you need a belt or other parts down the road.

THanks all. based on forum feedback, and talking to a friend who attempted to use amp, I've pretty much decided to use a Jessel if I go with a belt. I'd still rather use a chain, but I don't one is available for a raised cam.
