Doesn't it take a monster oil pan to keep the oil off the crank? Or do people just run dry sumps when the stroke gets that deep? Mine self levels down to 6 or 6.5qts from 7 with just a 4.15" and stock big-end rods. And I know I'm not the only one who experiences this.

I run a 7 quart flat bottom top fuel type oil pan with the dual external pick ups. No issues shifting at 7600.

That's a very good question, and I hope someone can answer it. On my early Hemi, I have a 4-5/8 stroker crank in it with a scraper and a diamond screen in the pan. I have a sight glass on the side of the pan so I can see that at least a few courts goes into suspension when I rev the engine. I'm not sure if it's going to the top end or if it's all crank windage though.

I have a 604 inch hemi. CNC ported older MP hemi heads and fabricated crossarm. first go around with the motor big cam / compression, was over 1000 hp. Long story short sold car, bought it back years later. Motor had a broke roller lifter. So during rebuild we did 10.5 to 1 compression, and a small roller cam. i don't have the specs handy but it was under .700 lift. i thought the cam would be kind of small but didn't want to hurt things and street drive. Still made a quick 860HP and a ton or torque. It's a great street combo and a blast to drive. for a street car when i drove it 1000hp it would just annihilate the tires in every gear on the street. lots of noise and no forward motion. with good heads, pump gas and cubic inch, you can go small on the cam, not kill parts and still make solid power. You start hitting diminishing returns on these when you get over 900 HP, and it gets way more aggressive for smaller gains.
