I am looking at buying some NOS 14" wire spoke hubcaps for my 70 Satellite Conv. All of the NOS ones I have found have a different style on the back than my originals. Not sure I can tell from the front if they are different or not. Mine are like the one on the left. Does anyone know if there is actually a difference on the outside ?

there were 3 versions of that 14" wire spoke wheel cover

2944400 1970-'71
3461467 1972-4/15/78
3880903 after 4/15/78

the '70 version required 14x5.5" wide wheels - I wonder if the '72+ version was modified to fit a narrow 5" wheel ??? I think the last version lost some of the black paint accents ???

I wonder if the change in 1972 was simply moving the production of the wheel covers to CANADA similar to the minor changes in W21 RALLYE wheels when production moved to CANADA for '72 also

have you seen any NOS 2944400 wheel covers in boxes?
