I'd like to see some pics of transbrake buttons mounted on factory steering wheels if any of you have done this. I have the factory E body 3 spoke wheel, but would like to see any ideas from any car really.
I'm not sure if I want to drill a hole through it (would really rather not do that) or make some sort of bracket to place the button just above the spoke. Drilling a hole and placing the button through a spoke would look the cleanest I think.

The worst part is the cable. Manual steering 5 turns lock to lock makes a tangled mess. Maybe run the wire though the horn button contacts with the button latched in the on position.

Drill the spoke but there is no easy way with the cord other than to play with it - I like the horn idea - there at one time was a wireless button a couple of guys were using - but it was determined that maybe it could be triggered from outside the car and it disappeared as quickly as it showed up - so my guess is it was being triggered elsewhere.

I've used the horn before in a car that wasn't legal to have a brake. Wire ran inside the dipstick tube, entering the tube against the firewall.

You know I didn't even think about it being that many turns lock to lock...the only car I've personally driven w/ a brake button on the wheel has a much faster steering ratio. Thanks for bringing that up DVW! I'd hate to have drilled my wheel and then find that out...I get in a hurry like that, lol.

Maybe I'll look at mounting it on the column or dash somewhere it's easy to reach. I'd rather leave the horn button functioning as is for now...

Chip I just installed a trans brake in my Dart, the car has a very nice three spoke wood grain wheel. I didn't have the heart to put the switch on the wheel so I made a bracket and it mounted it on my shifter.

I bent a piece of aluminum to 90*, drilled two holes in one side, the other side for the button and tie wrapped to a center spoke. I used a Deadenbear coil cord, and it wasn't an issue. Doesn't tangle, just winds around. I put a strain relief on the dash. 31 years now😳
