okay here is my question im going to be truck pulling a 1976 ford f250 in a improved stock class my buddy use to pull it and it would get pretty bad wheel hop starting off. Here is my question do you think if i put two ton springs and dual shock absorbers and fabbed up a adjustable pinnion snubber that would work to get my axel from hoping. im not allowed to block or clamp or use traction bars in my class

I used to truck pull about 15 years ago back when you could actually take a somewhat stock truck and be competitive. Those days are long gone around here. I fabbed me up some cheater shocks that limited travel to control the bounce on my Dodge. We weren't allowed blocked suspension but trust me everyone had a creative way of interpreting the rules to limit suspension travel. Fords seem to be the worst about bouncing though. Controlling spring wrap and compression is the name of the game to stop the bounce. More springs will help but may not cure the problem without keeping the pinion from winding up. I also lengthened the spring pads for a larger contact area on the bottom spring. Lift blocks used between the spring and axle also contribute to the problem.

There is a post in the drag racing section that might help out a bit:

Pay special attention to Monte_Smith's posts about the vehicle trying to throw the housing out. And dealing with the front segment.

Do you think you could get away with taking some heavy leafs(like 2 tons) cutting the rear section off so they are just in the front? Ideal would probably be the main leaf of the same length, cut the eyes off so its just as long as the main.

Controlling the axle wrap is step one, then keeping it planted is step 2.
