'68 A-body dash pads

'68 A-body dash pads - 03/29/24 04:29 PM

Are they one-year-only because of the lower pads ?
My A-bodies so far have been '70-up, except for a '68 Barracuda (with the lower pads).
I seem to recall that the '68 upper pad extended further down than my '70-up Dusters.
Wondering if a '67 upper pad interchanges with a '68.

68 is unique. There is a portion at end that sort off interlocks/fit in the lower section. When you put a 69-76 you will see pinching.

67 profile is unique, but it will physically interchange with 69-76.

No problem.

Here is a picture showing the difference. Dark red is 69-up. Green is '68 only

If the length was the same, looks like the later pad could be modified to work.
But my memory is that the length of the later sides is shorter.
I have a line on a '67 pad, but that's another different style, IIRC.

People have tried to cut the ends and make the 69-76 work, but it always looks like crap. ABC Moparts is making the 68 pads now...

Thanks - At $499 & the wait, I think I might try a repair first.
I'll know more about my predicament when the car shows up tomorrow...

I have a couple 68 pads that each have one small crack in them, can't easily tell on the one. I would let either one go for $250...

PG classics made pads at one point. Used to be under $500.

Still make them?
