As someone mentioned already, what about modding the brake pad? Seems like an easier fix, especially if you're worried about rotor failure.

A rough measurement shows about 3/8" thick.
You may want to take a tiny drill bit and make a hole straight through the wall of the hub. You can poke a wire through it and measure it that way.
A tiny hole will not remove enough metal to be noticeable in balance or strength of the rotor.

So 3/8" = 0.375"... that's very thin compaired to the 0.45" i would probably have left on the 7038R.

I will see if I can buy a new 7038R over here and see if it's turned down as my 7032R! If yes, then I will do it on the 7038R and not send them back. I just don't wanna take any risks that a rotor fails during use!

i bought the 11.75 from advance auto parts, they only had one brand. wearever? the rotor hat or hub whatever you want to call that part, was definitely machined, i thought how nice it looked when painted compared to most other rotors.

Do you have a picture of it?
Does it look balanced or has balancing marks somewhere?

I just bought 2x 7038R here in Switzerland from the auto parts supply: same thing! Not machined, totally useless! I gave them back!
I just can't believe that they didn't notice that and I am the only one with this problem?! They must have produced 1000 of those rotors and they are all junk, unbelievable!

So I still got no picture of how the 7038R should look like IF built CORRECT... I still guess they forgot to machine it... as long as I don't know if they are machined from Raybestos I won't machine those 12 I got here, to risky I think...
