There is a change to the post from 69 down to 70, the 69 down is round.
More jogging needed... My 68 has a square stem... I hate it when that happens..
Maybe it's 69 only for the round stem? My 'vert was a 68 and I sold it 10 plus years ago, I can't remember which it had .

I find it hard to believe there isn't a good understanding on the subject - (CORRECT '68-'70 b-body rear view mirrors) --- & the parts book isn't making a convincing argument. per the parts book: 2 different mirrors: '68-'69 VS. '70 2 different "bracket & shaft" for convertibles: '68 VS. '69-'70 2 different "bracket & shaft" finishes: convertible "chrome" VS. all else "painted" 3 different "bracket & shaft" for non-convertibles: '68 VS. '69 VS. '70 appears to be: 2 different mirrors: early '68 (no border) VS. late '68-'70 (plastic frame) 2 different brackets (bases): 2 corners/2 rounds (convertible) VS. 4 corners (all else) 3 different shafts: long "Teardrop" VS. short "Round" VS. short "Square I-beam" I'll get the specifics from my brother's '68 GTX (September '67 built St. Louis car).

Here's one in a '68 Charger. Is this correct for the car?
I'm not 100% sure, but all the mirrors on 68 Chargers that I've seen, all had the black frame around them. I seem to remember the one you have being for C or A bodies. Again , Im not completely sure.
The 2 mirrors on both my 68 Chargers had the black surround on the mirror
What are the SPDs of your Chargers? The Charger I posted pics from is made up of a couple different cars & I think the rear view mirror came out of xp29f8b187116 with a B01 SPD. The black plastic backed "frameless" mirror is also in my brother's '68 GTX (SPD 927). I believe '67s have a silver metal back
& the Parts Catalog shows the same mirror head for all '68 passenger cars.
