If you want to do it the easiest way.... run the alt
output line back to the battery side of the master

exactly simple, and it would be protected..
I cant see any other way of running it on a race car

You can take that one step further and run a solenoid for the alternator output wire so that is not "hot" all the time.

The way mine is wired also with no tech problems.

Brian, I don't remember what diagragm I had originally used but with the alternator wire connected the car would not shut off when the kill switch was turned off. I got a four post switch, I think from Mancini. I will be racing tomorrow; however, when I get home I will post how to wire it. With the car running it will shut off everything on the car.

This may sound stupid, but wouldn't it be better to run your power supply wire for your ignition directly off the master cut-off switch. Directly killing all power to your ignition when the switch is turned off. Would seem easier to do than the alternator wire. I'm not an electrician either, so....I could be wrong.

The cut off switch won't kill the running car, the alternator will back feed power to the ignition though the "cold" side of the switch and the car will keep running.

I thought the same thing about opening the ground to the MSD
I really don't like the rules about having the cut-off on the positive side of the battery. It makes much more sense to me to kill the negative side of the power source but thats my opinion
