I had one that was on a Chevy Dually when I bought it, I thought it looked cool but if I put to much angle on it or there was a strong headwind it sounded like a Tympany drum on the roof. If it had its own mounts behind the cab maybe it would have been better. I dont think it made a bit of diff. with my mileage, would take along time to pay for itself.

Used one for a while...Looked cool, but actually lost mileage with it.

They do work if they are adjusted correctly....the trailing edge needs to hit an intersecting line drawn from the forward tip of your hood to the tip of the front of the trailer at it's highest point

I've got one mounted on the topper similar to the to the blue dually pictured above . I have found pulling the 28 foot enclosed to average about 1 1/2 miles per gallon increase. But also I have found that without the trailer it drops the mileage about 2 miles per gallon. If I'm not going any where with the trailer it comes off with 4 bolts. I think they are good investment if you do a lot of towing as I do, better if you can get one used and get a good deal as they are expensive new.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

I use to tow a 28ft trailer with a gutless 302 ford f250. going down the hiway, flat out with no wind, I could go about 62 MPH. added the wing, and besides keeping the bugs off the trailer, top speed went up to 70!!!

It was still a pig, but i could almost keep up with traffic.

so they do work.

then the front to rear angle of the wing is not the important one when following that rule.
paying attention to the edge .looking at pictures it appears that the height adjustment plays a big part in alignment. lkike anything else I need to find instructions for that one before I buy

Tape a string to the front edge of the hood, then the
other end on the front top edge of the trailer...
put the rear edge of the wing at that string... you
can do it 1 of 2 ways... if you want it farther back
then you need to raise it up OR move the wing forward
to meet the string... alot of guys like it near the
rear(for looks) but then they dont get it high enough
EDIT
If the string hits the front edge of the roof line
use that point instead of the hood

I just called the wing's manufacture for info on mounting brackets.
No wing will do any improvents to my truck.
Their tech guy told me the wing needs to be no more than 6' from the trailer an open pick up pulling a tag gets nothing It will work in a pick up with a goose

To great a distance to the trailer, the air has a
larger area to fall back in... I was in a design
stage of a rubber cover that would mount to the cap
of the truck and snap to the trailer(both the top
and sides)
