That's good to know, it sure was a pain getting to that valve.

Another option is to put it in the rear brake line, works good there.

Are you using it as a parking brake, or to lock out the pressure from going to the rear brakes or both???

Just for the record, in Sportsman class the NHRA/IHRA prohibits a line-lock device on the drive wheels. Safety issue in case the line-lock is on a toggle and you forget to switch it back.

Good to know, I wanted mine on the front anyway so I should be good to go.

I don't think that is true, I could be wrong. I just read the rule book cover to cover, I know it pretty well.

I just got done reading a NHRA rule book. Under section 3.1 brakes, it says "If brake system includes a differential pressure switch, line lock installed on front brakes must have soleniod installed after the diffential switch. All line locks (electric or hydralic)must be self returning to normal brake mode"

In other words a monentary switch, so when you let go it returns to the off position. No where does it say rear line locks are outlawed.

I use mine on a monentary switch and it blocks pressure to the rear and I use the front brakes to control my roll.

Any kind of line lock no matter where it's installed should be on a monentary switch, no matter what.

Hmmm, that's what I was told when we installed mine years ago. Maybe it was my track that mandated it? The monetary switch is good either way.

You'd think they would just go by the official rulebook so as to avoid confusion, but this is what my track emailed to me for this year's rules:

NHRA 2011 SPORTSMAN ET (1/4 mile 12.00 – 19.99)

1. Computer: Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. See general regulations 9:1.

2. Data Recorders: Prohibited. See general regulations 9:2 & 9:10.

3. Delay Boxes: Prohibited.

4. Transbrake: Prohibited.

5. Line lock: Four-wheel line lock prohibited. Two-wheel line lock permitted on non-drive wheels only.

6. Automated Shifter: Prohibited unless OEM equipped.

7. Throttle Control: Throttle must be manually operated by the driver’s foot. Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation. A deadstop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted. Throttle timers, counters prohibited.

8. Ignition: Stutter boxes prohibited. Single stage rev limiters permitted. Rev limiters or any other rpm limiting devices, legal unto themselves but altered or installed in so as to function as a down-track rpm controller prohibited. Crank trigger system prohibited, unless OEM distributorless ignition.

9. Switches & Buttons: All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type. Infrared lasers, retinal scan, fingerprint, light source or other non-mechanical type switch prohibited.

10. Tow vehicles: Prohibited.

11. Exhaust: Muffler(s) required.

Sure indivudal tracks can make there own rules, But I got the idea using it on the rear brakes from racing. Like I said, I'm not positive. But I didn't see anything in the rule book under sportsman, stock, ss pro stock and nothing under general unless I missed it. I was at home at lunch just before when I grabbed a rule book. I'm back at work now, got to work...
