Not knowing what you did/ changed for wiring, I can't say specifically, but here's how it "used" to work.
Chrysler ignition switches have THREE important, separate circuits inside, that is what amounts to three separate switches SO FAR AS THE ENGINE goes.
1. Ignition run. This is normally the blue wire, which feeds the ballast resistor (originally) the regulator, electric choke if you have it, and the alternator field on 70/ later cars, and may feed the idle stop solenoid, don't remember. In any case it is LIVE in "run."
2 "Engine start." This is the wire that feeds the fender/ firewall mount start relay, and fires up that relay when you twist the key to "start."
3 Ignition resistor/ ballast "bypass" circuit. This wire ALSO comes from the switch, and feeds "hot" battery to the coil + when the key is in "start" and is normally brown.
I would guess that you are missing this last connection. You have a wireing diagram?

I have a color wiring diagram, and everything seems correct according to that. I am wondering about my starter relay now that you mention that portion...I am going to go look at it and the wiring to/from it. Maybe I have an issue there? Thanks Dave

Okay, on the ignition switch itself, all the terminals are marked. There are posts marked "ignition 1" and "ignition 2". I am assuming one of these is start position, the other the run position? Is that true, and if so, which is which..I can trace that wire under the dash and to the resistor. I have checked the new harness over and over, and its wired correctly. Starter works fine, so assuming the relay is still good, all wires look good. Ideas? Dave

You're getting no fire in start (ign2) so trace continuity from the ign2 terminal on the ign sw out to/thru the bulkhead & onward to the downstream side of the ballast. This ign sw terminal has a brown wire on it. When I say start I dont mean the "st' terminal (yellow wire) which is to the starter relay & not a prob here as it is cranking over EDIT I'm assuming 4 pin ECU added w 2 terminal ballast? There's only several connection points/terminals from the ign sw to the coil/ecu which are the only 2 components that need fire, is it wired correct? The coil/ecu/dist pickup and their ign1 blue wire (run) supporting wiring are good as does run when you let off the key

The eng half of the bulkhead w the brown wire will b hot in run as current feeds back from the downstream end of the ballast which has the brown wire as current is fed to the other end of the ballast from the blue wire in run so that's normal. While someone holds the key to start check for fire at the ign2 (brown wire male terminal) on the ign sw then continuity on the connector that plugs onto the sw then the brass terminal in the rear half of the bulkhead

I put a test light on the Brown Wire terminal for ignition 2 at the bulkhead connector. When the key is in run position, it has juice. When I turn it to start, nothing. Something is wrong here... Dave
That's it. check at the bulkhead and if not there, at the ignition switch.

You have juice at the run (ign1) circuit. (in addition) need juice at the brown wire (ign 2) ign sw terminal out to the bulkhead w key turned to crank. Can pull the yellow wire off of the fender starter relay to disable the starter till you get it sorted out

You are probably running a 4 wire connector with a single ballast resister, with your new electronic ignition system. Run a splice from the brown wire and the blue wire and it will run.

You have fire at the ign2 (brown wire) ign sw terminal in "start" right? and the connector on the back of the ign sw is good (continuity) right? OK, seperate the bulkhead & check for fire at the brown wire brass terminal on the firewall half of the bulkhead in "start" (use a NAPA 725147 male terminal to clean it). W it clean then check/clean the male terminal in the front bulkhead half if needed w a mini steel bristle brush.

So...I have juice at IGN2 when the key is turned..but nothing out of the bulkhead. In IGN1/run, juice at bulkhead. I have the brown wire and blue wire mated to the same terminal at the ballast resister. Yep, single resistor 4 wire setup. What splice would I use, or do I pull bulkhead connector and check connections there.. Car runs fine and starts fine when key is released..but its just wrong and I want it right..
If this is true you have it WIRED INCORRECTLY
Dark blue goes to one side of ignition resistor
Brown and coil + go to OTHER side of ignition resistor
Dark blue is hot in RUN
Brown is hot in START
THE DIAGRAM BELOW HAS ONE MISTAKE. DO NOT USE the yellow wire as shown, use the BROWN wire in place of YELLOW
I can't see the diagram you are posting but I can guess... the Mopar Performance one with orange box and a yellow wire arriving to ballast coil splice.
THAT DIAGRAM is just correct for mids/lates 70s cars when the coil source on start moment was changed from ign switch to starter relay. These Starter relays use double prong on start hook up one to feed relay and the other one to feed ballast/coil on same moment, and saves one wire coming from ign switch, and one cavity from bulkhead
