I would like to eventually find a 7 second time slip with my car. The chassis is there now, just need to afford the powerplant that will get it done. So, 7.99 would work.

Been in the 8's a handfull of times with the 440 on spray, completely comfortable. The Challenger is such a wide, long platform, along with a rack, that even when it gets out of the groove, I feel confident muscleing it back. 9.2's with the 512 Indy was a little different, so torquey I never was happy with the ladder bar in the first 60ft., then boring from the 1/8th to the finish.
It'll have struts, and a bottle on the 512 when it comes back out, and we'll see how far in the 8's is enough.

My brother's 100 inch wheel base AMX is a different story...low 9's in that twitchy little sucker was plenty for me.

Jeez Billy...that AMX is a barge compared to my 93" WB..

My Scamp is real stable, the wheelbase was altered from 111 to 109 and it's fairly wide so I'd feel comfortable going in the 8's with it although my stock block SB stroker probably wouldn't last at that level nor would my 8.75 rear. lol I'm shooting for mid 9's and by all estimations it will probably run quicker than that. I may need to detune this engine so it and the rear will last.

I'd be ecstatic if my tank got anywhere close to 10.0s. It's quite enough of a handful to wrestle back in the groove at 4200# if it gets out of shape at 130+ mph.

9.99 with a 9. lol. any faster for me I have to change a ton of stuff. Don't want to have to go through the NHRA bs. Any faster than that would hurt my old heart anyway.

I would like to go 8.50 eventually. But not with the current small block. I would prefer a mild 540 ci Predator Headed Big Block that will last.

10's is all I want to hit with my 63. It will always be a pump gas street car and I will be more then happy to drive to the track and run 10's and then drive home. Hopefully the 493 I am building now will get it there. Besides to many things to do for NHRA when you go faster then 10.0. But 10.70's would make me real happy with the new eng and its still within my budget. Ron

I've been 8.74 @ 154 in my Horizon (94" wb) and felt comfortable. I wouldn't be afraid of high-7's, just need the cert. They did it in Pro Stock with the same basic car...

I would like to get that elusive 7 second timeslip. Knockin on the door but have not gotten it done. Then again I have not really done anything to make it happen. More converter and gear should get me there but I have to much fun running on the stop to comprimise the current set up. But I am oh so close it would be nice, I think I have just enough power just have to get this bomb to 60'. Not sure I would want to go to much faster in this car. With a light typical chrome moly car I would have already been there. Oh well with the move to Vegas I can forget about it happeneing with this set up for sure. Aint gonna happen in 4000'+ DA's

I've gone 8.20s in my Altered, would feel fine in the mid-7s (I think). Anything faster would require an update. My project Dart? Seeing how it's a street car & a 10-pt cage, low-9s (if I'm REAL lucky) would be okay........

Ultimately, I'd love to build a new engine to run high 10's in street trim, but that will wait a decade until my youngest is out of the house. I won't cage my car until I'm sure I won't be hauling rear seat passengers. So in the meantime, I'm satisfied with 11's.
