I've seen them on Ebay and need to order a steel frame dash pad. Not sure if this is their product or if they are a re-seller. Figured I'd ask here before I ask them directly. Was also thinking of an Ultimate rides dashpad? Any thoughts?

I used Just Dashes years ago for a 70 Challenger dash and was happy with their work, but I dont have that kinda time. I need something that is preferably in stock. But thank you for your input

A local customer of mine was in the shop last year looking for a good dash pad for his Cuda when he mentioned this company. I was very curious since they are also in Ohio so I called them and talked to Carroll. Carroll was very nice and she had all the right answers so I had my customer send his core to them. I think it was about 5 weeks later and he's in my shop again with his dash pad, it looked very good and I was impressed. However, as most of us know, impressive looking doesn't mean it fits. I took one of my dash frames, light bar, drivers side plastic, center plastic and speaker grille and assembled the whole thing.
Needless to say I will be doing business with them on all my next ebody needs.

Thanks for your input Mike, , if they pass your litmus test, they must be ok! Joe, they aren't in the Carolinas, thats just in their name. They are based in Ohio. Guess maybe I'll check them out as they are priced slightly less than the UR pads most of the board members are selling. They sell on Ebay under the username CarolinaSuperdashes If I did have more time, I'd go with Just dashes, as Im familar with their product, just in a major time pinch right now. If I do go with them, I'll post about it.

Just Dashes is the only way to go. UR- - -you're just asking for trouble.
I hear the exact OPPOSITE from people, but have no personal experience. I think the quality of UR dashes is supposed to be better but the people are jackasses.

The prob with Just Dashes is that they jacked up there price a few years back but They are a cut above the UR pads but it depends on how pickey you are. BTW the dash that Carolina dash had on display at Carlisle looked like crap to me . It was real wavey . Maybe there prod pieces are better now . The UR pads we used in our shop had issues on the ends of the dash and the whole dash req a bit of trimming everywhere. I think for my $$$ I would still use Just Dashes

I don't know anything about Carolina Superdash. I got my dash pad from Ultimate Rides. I had talked to a guy that had used U.R. and they never gave him his core charge back so I went through Nicks Classic Parts (AZ Nick) the whole process took me about 6 months because the first 2 they sent me had small defects. Nick was great to deal with he made sure I got a quality pad. I would not like to deal with U.R. by myself they came up with alot of bad excuses for not getting my pad finished. I saw that Nick doesn't work with U.R. any more I thought he said they were to hard to deal with. If I were to do it again I think I would send mine to Just Dashes.
Same deal with me. Got a (U.R.)'70 challenger dash pad (metal frame) on that group buy deal a few years ago. Sent first one back and should of sent the 2nd one back also. Probably ok for resto rod but not for a correct looking restoration deal.

I guess I'd say they are better than a cracked dash... but I wasn't too impressed when I used on. For my car I'll use a cap.

got it - thanks guys so do people still believe these are the best ones around? separately, is putting on a new pad something that is easiliy done? - or does it require special equipment of some sort said differently, what are the options for redoing the entire dash? - does a company like Carolina Superdash do gauges for example? thanks in advance for any guidance

Depends on level of resto you are doing. Removing just the pad itself can be a pain in the dupa. Honeslty after doing this on every E body Ive had; (6) total; I'd just remove the whole dashpad/and metal frame assembly as one. Then you can remove the gauges and whatever else you need. CarolinaSuperdashes I believe just does dash pads. For gauge resto; several board members/sponsors perform this. I recently used member Mike Mancini for the chalenger non rallye gauges that were in it, and i was happy.

OK - understood - did you end up going with them?

not as hard as you think, could be done in a day in the car...the detailing is what will slow you down when putting it back on...cleaning,painting,etc...
